Millfield Movement Workshop (All Welcome!)

  • Parca Unity Hall Northfield Road Peterborough (map)

Get creative with your body and try something new!

Explore different ways to get moving - weaving together self-expression and dancing with others and try something new with your friends and family. Join Peterborough Presents, Gaelin and Tara for fun taster workshops about their exciting new project, WEFT, which has been commissioned by a panel of local residents in the Millfield area. You will be guided supportively through a variety of creative tasks and frameworks. No previous dance experience is necessary and you will be encouraged to work at your own pace.

25th July at Unity Hall, Northfield Road, Peterborough, 6PM - 9PM
Please note the taster workshop has two sessions available, 6pm - 7pm and 8pm - 9pm. You are welcome to attend both if you would like, but the session format will be the same in both.
You are also welcome to join us between 7pm-8pm for a community meal cooked in Unity Hall's kitchen.
No need to pre-book, just turn up! All are welcome :)

If you enjoy yourself at the taster session, you can take part in the main production too! WEFT will continue to run workshops over the summer (dates TBC) which will include an exciting opportunity for you to star in a film that will be shown as part of Millfield Arts Festival 2018! Working alongside the two artists and filmmaker Jason Brooks, you will become part of four unique short films along with other local residents. You will be encouraged to use your own history as a starting point in relation to the theme ‘crossroads’.

Gaelin & Tara are experienced dance artists and co-founders of Dance Company, Eleven Farrer House. Over the years, they have guided a wide variety of people into dancing, of different ages and levels of experience. They enjoy working both within professional dance environments and with local communities, initiating and facilitating grassroots projects, providing experiences that develop individual creativity, confidence and wellbeing.
