5 Reasons Why You Should Become a Festival Panelist
Our first festival panel meetings for Hampton Festival and Millfield Arts Festival 2018 are coming up in February. Here's 5 reasons why you should come along:
1) IT PUTS YOUR COMMUNITY IN CHARGE
Most small scale festivals follow a similar format of music, stalls, and maybe some fair ground rides. There's nothing wrong with that, but Peterborough Presents want to make sure that the activity we put on is relevant to the community. For example, if Hampton has lots of keen fire-walking residents, we could put on a fiery headliner! We also know that Hampton has a lot of new families, but we don't know what your interests are... so come and tell us! We won't programme anything the panel isn't 100% happy with. You get the ultimate decision.
2) YOU GET BEHIND THE SCENES ACCESS
If you join our panel you'll get an insight into all the planning and strategy that goes into making a festival happen. It's isn't all fun and games, but there's lots of great imaginative ideas put to the group at each session! There will be plenty of opportunities for you to take the lead on different aspects of the festival and grow your skills and knowledge further. Panellists will become ambassadors for the festival and feel really proud to be a part of what makes the event a success.
3) YOU GET TO MEET OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR AREA
We hope that residents from all walks of life will join us at our meetings. This is a great opportunity to make friends and get to know your local organisations, charities and businesses.
4) YOU GET TO GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY
This is a perfect chance to say thank you to your friends, colleagues, and community, by supporting a feel-good family friendly festival, right on your doorstep. We won't be able to make it happen without people like you!
5) THERE WILL BE FREE REFRESHMENTS (GOOD ONES)
... need we say more?
